We strive to provide informed, appropriate diagnostics, including digital radiology, ultrasound, Vetscope for otic exam, ECG, dental radiology, and chemistry and CBC analysis. We often will look at samples with a microscope to help us make a diagnosis. Finally, our doctors and staff use their many years of personal and professional experiences to observe, evaluate and discuss your pet’s needs.
Some diagnostics are better served by sending samples to an outside lab. We commonly use IDEXX Laboratories, a national lab with 24-hour turn around, in most cases.
We can run general serum chemistries and complete blood counts and urine in-house. We often run pre-operative blood screens or evaluate blood when we have an emergency or a sick pet and we need an answer right away. We also routinely evaluate urine.
We provide a wide variety of surgical procedures, including ovariohysterectomy (spay), castration (neuter), soft tissue exploratory, and tumor removal.
We utilize the safest anesthetics, both gas and injectable , calculated for the weight of the pet and the procedure being performed. Animals are monitored for oxygenation, heart rate, respiration rate, temperature and blood pressure to insure the least amount of risk while under anesthesia.
We have a state-of-the-art digital X-ray machine. It allows us to send images directly to specialists for consultation, if necessary.
An ECG can be run in-house for a quick evaluation of the heart, or faxed to a cardiologist for more in depth interpretation.
Our routine professional dental services include teeth cleaning, dental radiographs, periodontal treatment, extractions and oral surgery while a pet is anesthetized. For more information, check out the Dentistry page.

Our pharmacy has a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, and flea and heartworm control products. Because pets are not the same size, nor are they always easy to medicate, we use a compounding pharmacy to make many medications into trans dermal creams or solutions for ease of administration.
