Preventative Medicine
“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”
As the cost of health care rises for our pets, we are recognize that stopping a problem before it starts, or at least catching a problem in it’s early stages, can be a very good thing.
For your pet this may be as simple as coming in to see us for a yearly exam before age 7, and twice yearly exams after age 7. We consider dogs and cats senior at 7 years, and since your pet will age faster than you will, a lot can change with your pet’s health in the space of a year.
During the yearly visit, we can discuss your pet’s needs for:
- Vaccines
- Parasite prevention (intestinal worms, heartworms, fleas, ticks, ear mites, etc)
- Fecal parasite screening
- Bloodwork or urinalysis (baseline or monitoring health conditions or medications)
- Tumor monitoring
- Breed-specific conditions (Eye exams, joint exams, etc)
